Together, we can redefine leadership, creating successful workplaces and a more inclusive and empathetic world.

FAQs

  • I come from an invitational stance. This isn’t about changing who you are, it’s about amplifying and evolving who you already are.

In most sessions, I find the most potent combination for activating your innate strengths is a mixture of questions and clear reflections, with an emphasis on experiences that are designed to get you unstuck and moving forward.

While I bring my full toolkit and experiences to each client, each relationship is also customized to what you need and what you most want to learn.

  • The bedrock theories that are woven throughout my practice are:

    • Theory of leadership - I believe leaders are not born, they are made. And they have the humility to continue to learn their entire career. They’re never “done.” (Influences: Simon Sinek, Mitch Saunders)

    • Theory of change - I believe that humans change only as much as they’re ready, and only when we have an internal experience of something new. Change cannot be imposed by someone else. And there is nothing someone can say that can make someone change. I also believe that experimentation is a key part of change. (Influences: Peter Senge, Mitch Saunders, Lao Tzu)

    • Theory of relationship - I believe that humans grow and heal when in relationship with someone who genuinely sees and appreciates them, finds something to love in them. The stronger the relationship, the stronger the container. The stronger the container, the more risks that are possible and the more growth that is possible. (Influences: Ron Kurtz, Brene Brown)

    • Theory of systems - I believe that humans are intricately connected in a web of systems both in our personal and professional lives. One aspect of the system affects all other aspects. That’s why, to truly appreciate any one individual, it is essential to understand their contextual systems they’re a part of. (Influences: Peter Senge, Mitch Saunders)

    • Theory of somatic intelligence - I believe that our bodies carry information that is often not accessible by our minds without intentional practice. I believe that we can learn how to shift our minds, and thus our emotions, by learning how to shift our bodies. (Influences: Stanley Keleman)

  • I've been called a leadership coach, executive coach and career coach. I chose the title "organizational coach" because it best reflects the lens I bring to coaching - I am committed to supporting you, the individual, within the context of your organization. That's why I begin our relationship by asking about your strategic plan, OKRs or any deliverables you're responsible for, the key stakeholders you interface with, about your senior executive team, your board (if you have one), your investors. I want to understand what will make you successful in your environment. Then we can dive into the personal and individual aspects of leadership.

  • Most clients choose to work with me over 6-12 months, with 60 minute sessions spaced every 2 weeks.

    • Our first session establishes our shared foundation where I get to know you and your organizational world you inhabit. (Optional: I can conduct a 360 review to launch our coaching relationship and/or review a 360 you've had done recently.)

    • In our first or second session, we establish your key learning objectives for coaching. Typically, clients choose 2-4 objectives, depending on how much time we have together.

    • The majority of our sessions will be focused on specific examples pulled from your organizational life. Your job is to bring the examples and my job is to design learning experiences and suggest specific tweaks to increase your capabilities.

    • Our final session is a celebration and a reflection on what you’ve learned and what’s next for you.

  • I typically work with individuals in leadership positions who listen more than talk, who feel and care deeply, and who connect easily. They also share a commitment to a lifelong journey of learning.

I work across many different sectors, and have particular experience working with leaders in start ups, biotech, academic, and the public sector.

  • I can't do anything that will change you or guarantee you results, and that's a good thing. Your results and your success is entirely in your hands. (Imagine how dangerous it would be if someone else could change us?!)

I can guarantee you that I'll fully show up for you and will bring my full expertise - 10+ years as an organizational leader, 5+ years as an organizational consultant, and 700+ hours as a certified coach.

That said, most of my clients experience an increase in confidence in who they are, and a quiet pride for the innate skills they bring. They also develop "hard" skills like speaking up in group meetings and showing up in a way that's influential, securing resources and sometimes, promotions.

  • You have the ability to schedule and reschedule your sessions using my online calendar, according to your availability.

I ask that you commit to regular sessions in our first 6 months so we can get momentum going and build a strong working relationship.

While the sessions are 2 hours/month, the reflection and actions you take outside of our sessions are where a lot of the magic happens. If you don’t have time to make space for at least a few hours a week to read and try new things we talk about, this probably isn’t the right time for coaching.

  • The costs vary depending on how long your coaching contract is for, whether you want to include a 360 and/or executive presence assessment at the beginning, and whether you’re paying privately or through organizational funding.

    Typical packages start at $5,200.

After our free consult, I will send you a proposal with the package that meets your needs.

  • They don’t have to be but it is incredibly helpful when they are. There are ways to enroll your boss in this process while maintaining your confidentiality.

  • We start with a complimentary consult. I like to reserve 60 minutes for this so our time together feels spacious.

If, after the consult, we mutually would like to move forward together, then I will send you a coaching contract to review and sign, and you can start booking your sessions at the mutually agreed upon time.

  • I'm currently gathering names of people who might be interested in a group experience that closely mirrors what I do in a private coaching session. If you're interested, send me an email.
